Fugitive from justice nabbed

A fugitive from justice, wanted for an armed robbery, was nabbed Thursday in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said earlier this week they were contacted by Union County, N.J., police asking for assistance in serving a warrant on an individual identified as Kyle Westry, 18, of Tobyhanna. He was wanted by Union Township police in connection with an armed robbery of a service station in the township that occurred on Sept. 19. During the commission of the robbery Westry was alleged to have struck the attendant with a handgun and discharged a round. He fled with $600 in cash.Westry was taken into custody without incident by Pocono police and arraigned before a district judge. He was remanded to the county prison in Snydersville pending extradition to New Jersey.
