Starting time is set for 'Silk Road' performance in Tamaqua Dec. 16

Organizers of the world-acclaimed Silk Road Flower Rain performance scheduled to take the stage in the Tamaqua Area Auditorium want to emphasize that the public performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Fri. Dec. 16.

Early reports announced a 7 p.m. starting time but that is not correct. The show will definitely begin at 6:30 p.m. in Tamaqua, according to June Krell-Salgado, cultural affairs director at Salisbury University, Salisbury, Md. All who wish to see the free special performance should plan accordinglyThe Silk Road Dance Company arrived in Washington, DC, on Tuesday night. They will perform their show at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday and Saturday. After that, they will travel to Salisbury. Md., to perform on Monday, and then on to another venue or two before arriving in Tamaqua in time for their coal-region presentation.The local performance is being arranged via the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United States, the Chinese Ministry of Culture, World Artists Experiences and the Tamaqua Area School District.
