Divorces granted

Sharon Haughton Grady, Pottsville, was granted a divorce from John Grady, Pottsville. They were married Feb. 14, 1996.Kimberly A. Colnnors, Cressona, was granted a divorce from Kevin A. Connors, Orwigsburg. They were married May 29, 2004.Lynn A. Romberger was granted a divorce from Scott Romberger, both of Schuylkill Haven. They were married Dec. 5, 2001.Grace L. Stock, Gordon, was granted a divorce from Gerald Stock, Richfield. They were married May 6, 1985.SentencedJoseph Anthony Berardi, 33, Altoona, last September entered guilty pleas to two counts of retail theft and he was sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin to serve six to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 55 days. He also must pay $100 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and make restitution of $378 to Walmart Store in Saint Clair. There was no restitution ordered for the theft from Boscov's Store, Fairlane Village Mall, Pottsville.Pleads guiltyJoseph Curry, 75, Schuylkill Haven, pleaded guilty but mentally ill to charges of aggravated indecent assault, statutory sexual assault, endangering welfare of a child, indecent assault, corruption of minors and indecent exposure.Judge Dolbin set sentence for Thursday, Jan. 19, and in the meantime Curry must submit to a sexual offender assessment board evaluation and the adult probation department is ordered to prepare a limited pre-sentence investigation report. Curry was cited by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman David T. George. involving an eight year old male.John Martin Kennerly, 36, Mahanoy City, pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment of Curtis Daub Jr., at a car wash in Shenandoah and was sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes to pay a fine of $300 and $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account. He was cited by Patrolman Kirk Kirkland.Ryan John O'Toole, 34, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and was fined $200 and pay $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account. He was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Brian J. Reno, for trespassing on property of Eric and Lois Lipkin.Revoke paroleThe parole of Andre Donald Soto, 32, Saint Clair, was revoked by Senior Judge D. Michael Stine and he was re-sentenced to serve six to 12 months in the county prison. The revocation was for failure to notify his parole officer within 48 hours of a new arrest and for failing to pay his court costs and fined as mandated.Soto had pleaded guilty in May 2010 to charges of defiant trespass on private property in Pottsville and disorderly conduct amd was placed on probation. He was cited by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey.Sent to state prisonJessica Lynn Snoke, 26, Orwigsburg, who was on probation for three years after spending 66 days in the county jail after pleading guilty to seven retail thefts and two theft of leased properties, had her probation revoked by Judge Dolbin and she was re-sentenced to serve one to five years in a state correctional institution, pay all costs, fines and restitution and she must obtain drug and alcohol evaluation. The retail thefts were from Walmart Store in Saint Clair.Taxes and revenuesCounty Treasurer Jacqueline McGovern reported in October $577,388.27 was collected in real estate taxes and $9,223.58 in per capita tax. The treasurer's office collected $1,065 in bingo licenses and $1,525 in small game of chance licenses.Other revenues were, magisterial district justice fees, $48,291.51; hotel tax, $24,154.66 and 9-1-1- tariff on land phones, $64,383.39. The balance in the county's general fund was $19,390,615.37.
