A Schuylkill County landmark was destroyed by a raging fire late Saturday night along SR61 between Pottsville and Cressona. Most fire units in the immediate area were still fighting the structure fire at the Cressona Textile Waste plant when the alarm sounded. Fire officials at the scene believe the fire had its start in the basement and worked its way up through the interior walls. The building will be knocked down, a fire official said. The fire is not considered suspicious but a state police fire marshal was summoned to assist in the investitgation. No one was reported injured in the incident.
