I'd like to thank school board members Hill, Resh, and Wentz who voted no for the Lehighton School building. Unlike Mr Krause who thinks he represents the voters, you three voted the way the people wanted you to vote.In 2007, my husband and I built our retirement home in Carbon County. I have been unable to retire because of the high Lehighton School taxes. For our 3 bedroom ranch home we pay $5,864 in school taxes. Dowd, Eidem, Krause, and Stern think there is going to be no problem if I pay $400 to $500 more in taxes.We can't afford to pay more taxes. Fix the old school. The school board is just like Congress and can't make good economic choices and have lost touch with reality. The reality is the tax base cannot handle a tax increase and we do not need a new school when the number of students are decreasing.Fix the old school.
