Ten area residents among 33 placed in probation program

Ten area residents were among 33 who were qualified by District Attorney James P. Goodman to be admitted into the Accelerated Rehabilated Disposition (ARD) probation program.

Senior Judge D. Michael Stine admitted them into the program at a hearing held in Schuylkill County court and imposed conditions. The program is only for first offenders involved in non-violent crimes. If they complete all conditions imposed their record is wiped clean.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted:Barry Lee Bridygham, 21, of 131 W. Union St., Tamaqua, on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkeness brought by Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Bynon, was assessed $350 to defray cost of the program, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), $50 to MCare, $25 to Emergency Management System (EMS), and $200 in fines.Jane Dolores Hanzarik, 52, of Majestic House, Apt. 3-J, 201 E. On a charge of striking a parked car in the unit block on Pine Street, she was fined $25 plus $50 costs and must make restitution of $883.71 to Tamaqua Borough.
