Lehighton Chamber of Commerce President Joseph Mandour exresed concern about a long-range plan of theLehighton Area School District that rojects a $1.6 million budget increase over the next eight years, together with a 72 mill tax rate, an increase of 33 mills in school taxation. The increase is because the district says a new school needs to be constructed. Mandour said there is a projection of an increase of only 89 students in the next eight years and asked, "Do we need another school in Lehighton?"
