The Tamaqua Seniors met Nov. 10 at the Tamaqua Community Center with 86 members in attendance. President Jean Machamer conducted the business session.Rose Vallee provided the invocation, entitled "Live Life to the Fullest."Vice President Doris Brobst and secretary Joan Ann Garber provided their reports. Pizza and drinks were served.October and November birthdays will be celebrated at the Dec. 1 meeting. Other December events include the annual Christmas party and installation of officers for 2012.Due to the holidays, there will not be meetings on Nov. 24, Dec. 22 and Dec. 29.The group meets every Thursday, at 1 p.m., at the community center. Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.Every meeting is followed by social and pinochle games.Class of 1962The reunion committee for the Tamaqua Class of 1962 is seeking current addresses for three "missing" class members: Carol Miller, Beverly Rice King and Carol Shellhamer Fredericks.Anyone with information on their current whereabouts may contact Jim Milot at (610) 767-8337 or Louise Schock at (570) 668-4121.GriefShareBethany Evangelical Congregational Church will host a GriefShare seminar, "Surviving the Holidays," in an effort to help those dealing with the loss of a loved one. Topics for discussion will include the Halloween On the Hill event and plans for Christmas.Anyone interested in improving the South Ward is welcome to attend.TEPTOThe Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization met Nov. 8 in the Tamaqua Elementary School Library and discussed numerous upcoming events.Plans for the Nov. 20 basket auction and bingo were finalized.
