Monroe man jailed in threats incident

A Monroe County man was jailed over the weekend following a threats incident involving a gun.

State police at Lehighton identified the suspect as John Paul Klingel, 58, of Saylorsburg, Ross Township.Troopers allege that Klingel pointed a gun at a neighbor as he was driving by his home at 343 Rossmor Drive, about 12:25 p.m. on Sunday. Troopers said Klingel and the neighbor have been involved in a property line dispute spanning several years.Troopers said the victim, not identified by troopers, has received numerous court orders relating the property lines are correct and banning Klingel from the property. Troopers also said the victim has two cases pending against Klingel for trespassing and disorderly conduct.Troopers said they located Klingel in Sciota and took him into custody. He was arraigned before a district judge on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering, harassment and related offenses. He was committed to the county prison in Snydersville in lieu of bail, troopers said.Troopers added that a search warrant was executed on Klingel's home and firearms were seized.
