Monroe man facing count in shooting

A Monroe County man is facing several charges stemming from a shooting and assault incident. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred about 2:59 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, in front of 2441 Grey Birch Lane, Long Pond.

Police said officers responded to that location for a report of a domestic disturbance with shots fired. On scene officers were told by one of the victims, not identified by police, that he had driven a friend back to her residence and that after dropping her off, her husband emerged from the home with a .22-caliber revolver and fired a shot at his vehicle. The victim fled the scene and called police.Police went to the home and took the suspect, identified as Gregory L. Cooper, 34, into custody. Found was a firearm, which was seized. Police also said the female sustained a physical injury which they observed.Cooper was charged with aggravated and simple assault, terroristic threats, tampering with physical evidence and harassment.He was transported to the county prison in Snydersville for arraignment on the charges, police added.
