Increased postal rates, established by the 80th Congress, will take effect Jan. 1. Special delivery rates will be boosted from a minimum rate of three cents and maximum rate of 35 cents, depending upon the weight, to a minimum of 15 cents and a maximum of 45 cents. Money orders now sold for between six cents and 22 cents, depending on the amount up to $100, will be upped to a minum of 35 cents. Postages on third class male, now one and one-half cents for two ounces or fraction thereof, will be boosted to two cents for the first two ounces and one cent for each additional ounce.
