The following dates are scheduled for the registration for children for the annual Toys for Tots campaign. Registration will be held at Salem Bible Fellowship Church, 1105 Fredericks Grove Road, Lehighton, on Nov. 18, 19, Dec. 2, 3, 9 and 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To ensure that a family is eligible for the program there must be a letter from your church/clergy, proof of public assistance or proof of unemployment.

Only parents or legal guardians are permitted to register the children and the person registering must have ID for themselves. Legal guardians must have proof of guardianship. For each child being registered, a birth certificate and Social Security card are required. The age limit is 14 and if handicapped, the age is 16.The distribution date is set for Saturday, Dec. 17, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you wish more information or wish to donate items for this worthy cause, contact Ed (570) 325-2408.Ecumenical serviceThe Jim Thorpe Ministerium will hold an ecumenical Thanksgiving service on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church, North Street. Delivering the sermon will be the Rev. Francis Baransky.Turkey dinnerThe free community supper at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, from4-6 p.m. The menu this month will be Thanksgiving turkey diner with all the trimmings.Creche/Nativity displaySt. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will hold its fourth annual indoor creche/ nativity display on Saturday, Dec. 3, from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4, from noon to 5 p.m.A new addition this year will be a table to feature all new articles being displayed for this season.
