HARRISBURG - Sixteen Luzerne County clandestine methamphetamine labs were dismantled and 25 suspects charged as part of an ongoing effort to target methamphetamine production, distribution and use in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Attorney General Linda Kelly said the investigation, known as "Operation Explosive Impact," focused on nine separate organizations operating and producing large quantities of methamphetamine for distribution in and around Luzerne County.Kelly said that the organizations did not work cohesively as one group, but rather worked independently to produce and provide enough methamphetamine for individuals within their networks.The investigation resulted in the dismantling of 16 clandestine methamphetamine labs located in Wilkes-Barre, White Haven, Jonestown, Nescopeck Township, Edwardsville, Nanticoke, Hollenback Township and Beach Haven.Agents and local law enforcement discovered four clandestine methamphetamine labs on June 23, 2011 along with dangerous chemicals including red phosphorous, pseudoephedrine, iodine crystals and discarded waste material.The labs were located at the following addresses:• 346 Blackman St., Wilkes-Barre• 71 Regent St., Wilkes-Barre• 7 Buck Birch Lane, White Haven• Mobile meth lab, parked outside 346 Blackman St., Wilkes-Barre.Suspects identified as part of this lab include; Glen Kocher, Donna Kocher, Amanda Adamski, Robert Shaffer, Mary Conlon, Alfred Bruzgulis, Jane Ann Frail and Patricia Kelly.As part of the ongoing investigation, Kelly said agents located two clandestine methamphetamine labs on Aug. 22, 2011 along with dangerous chemicals including; red phosphorous, pseudoephedrine, iodine crystals and discarded waste material.The charges state that Herbert Hargraves was actively cooking methamphetamine at the time a search warrant was served on his property. There were allegedly two sites at 902 Winding Road, Jonestown where Hargraves produced methamphetamine, including in the residence and in an outdoor camper.Agents identified Christinea Pearson, Tara Rushnock, Shawn Baran, Kim Hazlak, and Joseph Eddy as being involved with the Hargraves organization.On July 25, 2011 agents identified and dismantled a clandestine methamphetamine lab located on the banks of the Susquehanna River in Nescopeck Township. The lab was initially discovered by a Pennsylvania Fish Commission Officer on routine patrol.Agents recovered at least 5.8 pounds of methamphetamine from the site as well as pseudoephedrine, lithium and gas generators.The following individuals were identified as being part of the Susquehanna River meth lab; Richard Rogers, Bobbi Jo Wood, John Karcher, David Fausnaught, April Koonrad, and Clayton Kelley.On Aug. 27, 2011 agents discovered and dismantled a clandestine Methamphetamine lab located at 145 Washington St., Edwardsville. The lab, allegedly operated by Joseph Rockel, had been operational for a significant period of time. On the site agents discovered approximately 25 gas generators and approximately 50 uncovered used one pots.According to agents, Jeffrey Deluca was identified as the head of a methamphetamine lab that was discovered at 5 Alden Road, Nanticoke. Agents recovered 3.3 pounds of methamphetamine, as well as red phosphorous iodine, sodium and pseudoephedrine, which are all used in the production of methamphetamine, from the scene.During an Oct. 8, 2011 dismantling of a clandestine methamphetamine lab located at 255 Apollo Circle, Nanticoke agents discovered Lithium, pseudoephedrine, and gas generators.Kelly said the lab allegedly belonged to Bradley Evanitus.On July 8, 2011 agents discovered all the equipment and necessary chemicals needed to produce methamphetamine in the possession of Dale Laton in a wooded area located in Hollenback Township.In addition to their role as part of the Karcher-Fausnaught organization, Richard Rogers and Bobbi Jo Wood-Rogers were identified as operating their own methamphetamine lab at 242 Main St., Beach Haven.The lab was discovered and dismantled on Aug. 30, 2011. At that time agents recovered lithium, pseudoephedrine and gas generators.Kelly noted that there is an additional lab identified on Oct. 21, 2011, which is the subject of an ongoing investigation. Three methamphetamine labs were also discovered yesterday, Nov. 9, 2011 and agents are in the process of dismantling those labs.Kelly thanked the agents and special operations agents from CLEP, the members of the Luzerne County Drug Task Force, the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office, the Pennsylvania State Police and their Forensic Scientists, the Pennsylvania Fish Commission, and the Luzerne County Sheriff's Office for their assistance with the investigation.
