Crashes probed

State police at Lehighton reported on crashes investigated by troopers recently.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 12:01 a.m. on Oct. 26 along Smithlane Road in East Penn Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Samantha L. Wilson, 20, of Lehighton, was driving a 2001 Volkswagen southbound when she said a deer entered the road in front of her. She swerved to avoid the animal and lost control. The car crossed the southbound lane and went onto the berm where it struck a tree.Wilson was injured but did not require immediate medical attention.A crash occurred about 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, along Flyte Road, two-tenths of a mile south of Meixell Valley Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County.Troopers said Raymond Frinzi, 18, of Kunkletown, was southbound when he lost control of his 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier on the ice-covered road. The car crossed the northbound lane and onto the berm where it struck a tree.Frinzi was not injured but the car had to be towed from the scene.A crash occurred about 5:34 p.m. on Monday along Forest Inn Road at Fireline Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.Troopers said Nancy Kresge, 75, of Palmerton, was driving a Subaru Outback eastbound on Fireline Road while Robert Thomas Wilson, 44, of Brodheadsville, was operating a Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Forest Inn Road.Kresge entered Forest Inn Road and her vehicle was struck by Wilson's. troopers said.Troopers did not indicate if anyone was injured. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages. Assisting troopers at the scene were volunteers from the Aquashicola Fire Company and Palmerton ambulance.
