Weatherly Area Middle School Students of the Month for September were announced recently by Sandra Slavick, middle school principal.

They are nominated and selected based on academic achievement, attendance, extra-curricular involvement and service to the community.Samantha Knepper, daughter of William and Melissa Knepper of Weatherly, was selected as the sixth grade Student of the Month. She is a member of the middle school band and chorus and is a homeroom representative for student government.She is also a member of the Weatherly All American Girls Softball League; takes piano lessons; volunteers at the Cystic Fibrosis annual bake sale; dog walks and dog sits; child sits and helps her neighbors.Knepper is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she helps with fundraisers and was a Sunday School helper.Stephanie Lencovich, daughter of Valerie and Joseph Lencovich of Weatherly, is the seventh grade Student of the Month. She is a member of the middle school band and chorus and a homeroom representative for student government.She plays softball with the Express Girls Softball team and has been a member of Girl scouts since first grade. She has been taking gymnastics classes at Dance Explosion in Nesquehoning for seven years, and also child sits.She is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she is in the choir and is an altar server.Ashley Nunez, daughter of Leona Natale of Weatherly, is the eighth grade Student of the Month. She is a member of the middle school band and chorus.She is a member of the Weatherly All American Girls Softball league and volunteers her time by helping her neighbors and child sitting.She is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she attends CCD class and participates in special events.
