A truck driver was cited following a crash in Schuylkill County.

The accident occurred about 2:36 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, along SR125 in Tremont.State police at Schuylkill Haven said James J. Somers, 62, of Pine Grove, was operating a 1998 Freightliner southbound and rounding a curve when he observed a flagman in a work zone area instructing his vehicle to stop.Somers applied his brakes and was unable to bring the truck to a stop. The truck slid across the northbound lane and went onto the berm where it traveled about eight feet before striking an embankment with the drivers' side front end.After impact Somers backed up out of the embankment and the truck came to rest in the northbound lane. Somers was not injured.Troopers cited Somers for driving too fast for conditions.
