State police at Lehighton reported investigating a two-vehicle crash about 2:43 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, along SR248 at Union Hill Road in Franklin Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Derek Fairchild, 20, of Nesquehoning, was driving a 2001 Ford Mustang eastbound while Donna Hansen, 46, of Lehighton, was westbound driving a 2008 Dodge Avenger. Troopers said Fairchild turned left in front of Hansen and the vehicles collided.Fairchild sustained minor injuries and Hansen was not injured. Damages were termed major to the Dodge and minor to the Mustang.
