Kiosk machine installed in lobby of Carbon prison

Family members and friends of inmates at the Carbon County Correctional Facility will soon have more ways to put money in the inmate's accounts.

During the monthly meeting of the county prison board, Mary Fairchild, administrative assistant at the prison, gave an update on the new kiosk machine that has been installed in the prison lobby.Fairchild said that the administration has been trained in the system, which should be operational in the next few weeks. She noted that family members will be able to come to the prison between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday; as well as other times that will be determined at a later time, to deposit money into an inmate's commissary or telephone account using the new electronic system. They will be able to use cash or debit/credit cards to complete these transactions. Exact change is required for all cash deposits.Fairchild pointed out that a new feature that makes it even easier for family members to put money on an inmate's account has also been added with the system. If the family member cannot make it to the prison during the time the lobby is open, she said, the person can access and deposit money by credit card via the web. To access the online system, go to

www.offenderconnect.com.You will need to create an account. Once an account has been created and a prison has been selected, the person will be able to deposit money any time they want.
