David Clewell, left, and Joe Pinkey, both of Hometown Fire Company, carefully manipulate 250 chicken breasts on oversized grills last Saturday when the firehouse hosted Tamaqua First United Methodist Church's grilled chicken dinner. The event, open to the public, featured cooperation between the two groups. Church volunteers manned the serving station, ticket counter, and also baked a full array of dessert delicacies while firehouse and Hometown fire police volunteers did the prep work and manned the grills, doing more cooking than Chef Emeril and the Galloping Gourmet combined.
