A Carbon County man lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree in Lower Towamensing Township Thursday evening.

State Police at Lehighton said Robert Miller, 20, of Lehighton, was driving his 1997 Ford north on Cherry Hill Road approaching the intersection with Club Road. He attempted to turn left onto Club Road, but was unable to negotiate the turn due to traveling at an excessive speed.As a result, the left front of the vehicle struck a tree at the north west corner of the intersection.Miller, who was wearing his seat belt, was not injured.
