The Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 in the Tamaqua Elementary School Library.The membership drive will continue through Oct. 31. Membership in the organization is required in order to participate in school functions.The Raider Run will be held Oct. 14. The public is welcome to attend and support the students.Last day for School Spirit orders will be Oct. 17.The Rush Elementary Book Fair will be held Oct. 17-23. Family Night will be Oct. 19, from 6-8 p.m., in the Rush Elementary School Library.A dance for students in grades 3-5 will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the Tamaqua Elementary School gym. Cell phones are prohibited.Oct. 28 will also be Family Movie Night at the Rush school, for students in kindergarten through second grade. Gym doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the movie presentation scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. The feature presentation will be "Spooky Buddies."Costumes are permitted. Canned good donations will be accepted to benefit the local food bank.Volunteers are needed.
