Rock the Fall Festival slated in Lower Towamensing Twp.

The sound of the keys as passerbys marvel at the change of the leaves on the trees.

That combination figures to once again churn out a smash hit at the fourth annual Rock the Fall Festival, scheduled this weekend at Blue Mountain Ski Area in Lower Towamensing Township.The two-day event will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine. Admission and parking are free.Also of interest, Blue Mountain has partnered with Blockers Yamaha-Kawasaki and Keystone Harley Davidson's 25th Annual Fall Foliage Ride. The annual autumn ride starts at Blockers and Keystone and ends at the ski area.A total of six bands - three each day - will perform rock, classic rock, and country music at Rock the Fall, said Abigail Stasik, special events coordinator.Among the bands that will perform Saturday are Stonecat, 11:30-2:30 on stage one; the Daisy Jug Band, 3 p.m.-6 p.m., stage one; and Big Things, 1 p.m.-5 p.m., stage two.On Sunday, the Jesse Wade Band will perform on stage one from 11:30a.m.-2:30 p.m., followed by Forty Grand from 3p.m.-6 p.m. Pair of Nuts will perform on stage 2 from 1 p.m.-5 p.m.Other entertainment will include extreme motorcycle stunt crew The Krazy White Boys both days, as well as the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus featuring juggling, tight rope walking, fire eater, and sword swallowing.There will also be scenic lift rides: $5 All-Day Wristband; Kids Amusement: $5 All-Day Wristband; a tent sale for used and new equipment; face painters and airbrush tattoos; free pumpkin painting; two jump bounce houses; sidewalk chalk art; and pumpkin chuckin'. Plenty of crafters and food vendors will be on hand as well.Stasik said the family-friendly event is a great way to wrap up the festival season."It looks like we're going to have great weather," Stasik said.
