Melvin Seals and JGB will light up the Penn's Peak stage, Thur.

Melvin Seals is best known for his friendship and musical partnership with cultural icon Jerry Garcia.

He has spun his B-3 magic with the Jerry Garcia Band and in doing so helped pioneer what has now become "Jam Band Music."Melvin continues to bring his unique brand of melodic flavor to the stage with his latest projects, Vitamin B-3 and The Mix, Melvin Seals JGB Band and Melvin Seal Rhythm Factory.Tomorrow night at Penn's Peak, Melvin Seals and JGB make a stop at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe. The opening act is Boris Garcia, who is well known for his Jerry Garcia tributes. The JGB consists of Pete Lavezzoli on drums, Stu Allen on guitar, Jimmy Tebeau on bass and Shirley Starks and Cheryl Rucker on back up vocals.Allen is a founding member of The Jones Gang, Minneapolis' premier Grateful Dead tribute band.Tebeau has, amazingly enough, played over 2,500 shows since 1990 featuring the music of Jerry Garcia, and he still continues today with the JGB.Lavezzoli, like the others, also started out playing in a Grateful Dead tribute band.
