Ghost tours return to Old Jail

Eerie Ghost Tours of the Old Jail Museum on Saturday October 15, 22, and 29, from 6:30 pm to the last tour at 9:30 pm. will allow visitors to hear about real ghosts and to explore the unknown. Voices coming from an empty cell, an invisible hand on the shoulder, black shadows moving around the cells, and someone touching your hair are all experiences from Old Jail visitors. Ghost seekers will hear about the unnatural happenings in the cell block and if they are brave will venture down into the solitary confinement cells in the spooky dungeon to check out the ghosts in the solitary confinement cells. On June 21, 1877, four Irish coal miners accused of murder and known as Molly Maguires met their death on the gallows in the Old Jail. The accused miners proclaimed their innocence and one miner left his mysterious handprint on his cell wall as proof of his innocence. Are there ghosts in the Old Jail Museum? Are they the ghosts of the Molly Maguires? Because of the scary nature of the night, no children under 12 are permitted as the Old Jail does not want to be responsible for nightmares.
