Those who keep a finger on the pulse of their well being should plan to attend an event geared toward public health intervention.

Back by popular demand, the Village at Palmerton will hold its annual Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27.Services expected to be on tap include blood pressure screenings, sugar checks, nutrition services, sleep lab screenings, pre-planning funeral, as well as home care and nursing services.Home health care agencies, personal care agencies, Med Alert, and Blue Mountain Health System are expected to be on hand, said Norma J. Kunkel, director of marketing and admissions."Our goal is to invite the community into our building to see what we have to offer," Kunkel said. "We want to let the public know what services are available to them in our community, whether it be if they're in a personal home care setting, or in their own home, to keep them as well as possible."Last year's health fair was double in size from the year prior, as 40 vendors participated.An assisted and independent living facility, the Village at Palmerton provides individualized personal care services that address the physical, social, and spiritual needs of each resident.
