A Schuylkill County man is facing theft counts.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Thomas Michael Scornavacchi, 50, of Schuylkill Haven, has been charged with four counts of theft by deception.Troopers allege that Scornavacchi was residing at 436 SR61S, in North Manheim Township, and gave Laverne McDemus, 39, of Schuylkill Haven, his landlord, four checks totaling $890 for rent payments.All the checks were drawn on a closed account, troopers said.
