Jim Thorpe police at investigating the theft of a newspaper vending machine.

Police aid on Wednesday, Sept. 28, about 7:05 p.m. a female discovered a TIMES NEWS machine along the Switchback Trail below South Avenue, while jogging. Police said the machine was pried open and an undetermined amount of change taken.Police, with the help of the Jim Thorpe Community Watch Group, learned that the machine had been taken from in front of 300 Center Avenue sometime on Tuesday.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call police at (570) 325-4995.
