Theft, mischief incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a theft incident and several acts of criminal mischief.

Polk Township, Monroe County, maintenance officials reported someone stole a stop sign and street sign, which reads Hemlock Road, from the intersection of that road and Mountain Road. The theft occurred sometime overnight of Sept. 13-14.The following mischief incidents were reported.Charles Trotti, of 338 Long Mountain Rd., in Polk Township, reported someone damaged his four by four wooden post he used as a marker for his driveway. The incident occurred sometime between 2 and 5 a.m. on Sept. 18.Aimee L. Bailey, 36, of Little Gap Rd., Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, reported someone damaged the convertible top on her 1998 Chrysler Sebring by punching a hole in it with a unknown type object. The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 10 and 12 while the car was parked near her residence.Three incidents were reported to have occurred on Aug. 12 in Ross Township, Monroe County.Michael Andrew Maczko, 48, of 654 Meixell Valley Rd., Saylorsburg, reported someone smashed out the driver's side window of his vehicle while parked near his home. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 6:30 a.m.Diana Marie Transue, 61, of 326 Weir Lake Rd., Saylorsburg, reported someone smashed her mailbox with an unknown type object. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 11 a.m.Robin Eckenrode, of 182 Cindy Lane, Saylorsburg, reported someone smashed her mailbox with an uknown type object.
