A Schuylkill County teen nabbed for retail theft was later found to be in the country illegally.

State police at Frackville were called to the Sears store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township, about noon on Wednesday, Sept. 28, for a person in custody for retail theft.Store security identified the suspect as Ramiro Olayo, 19, of Shenandoah. He was charged with taking five shirts valued at $116 from the store without paying for them.At the scene, he would not provide any form of identification. He was then taken to the barracks where it was learned he was in the country illegally. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) was contacted and placed a detainer on him. Troopers said Olayo was lodged in the county prison in Pottsville pending being taken into custody by ICE.
