St. Paul LutheranThe Rev. Phyllis Pelletier will be the supply pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, on Sunday, Oct. 2. A retired pastor from Nanticoke, she will preside at the 10:30 a.m. worship service.The Sunday Church School will have an additional activity this weekend in addition to the traditional 9 a.m. class. Members will meet at the church at 5 p.m. for a scavenger hunt. Those attending are reminded to dress appropriately for outdoors and are invited to bring a friend.St. Paul's will hold a congregational council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m.Presbyterian churchThe Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, last week returned to the regular time of worship, that being 10:30 a.m.This Sunday's (Oct. 2) schedule includes Sunday school at 9:15 a.m., followed by the worship service and a time of fellowship. Communion will be observed during the 10:30 a.m. service.Scripture sharingThe weekly scripture sharing sessions at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, has changed to Wednesday nights at 7 o'clock in the parish rectory. Participants will be examining the changes to the Liturgy due to the incorporation of the Third Edition of the Roman Missal (English Translation) on the First Sunday of Advent (Nov. 26-27). There will be a cursory look at these changes during Mass beginning in mid-October.LansfordRCIA meetingSt. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will hold preparatory meetings for any adult interested in receiving the sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion and/or Confirmation during the Easter vigil. Extra security will be on the streets to protect the little ones. Fire trucks generally go up and down the streets as well.
