Schuylkill man jailed for assault

A Schuylkill County man was jailed over the weekend for assaulting his girlfriend. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred about 11:08 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 5 May Ann Hills, in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said Daniel L. Casey Jr., 25, of Schuylkill Haven, arrived at the residence and broke through the front door. He then proceeded to strike and kick the 30-year-old female, who troopers declined to identify. The female suffered multiple lacerations and contusions as well as a fractured nose, troopers said.Casey was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated and simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment. He was arraigned before on-call District Judge James Reiley, of Pottsville, and committed to the county prison after failing to post $25,000 bail.
