Porch collapses after hit by truck

After support posts were struck by a vehicle this morning at 28 Canal Street, Franklin Township, the second floor porch collapsed and the roof was damaged to the two family home. A Franklin Township police officer said that the driver, James Wilczewski, was driving a Tacoma pickup truck with RFM lettered on the side, which is a contract employee of Blue Ridge Communications, when he lost control rounding the curve and plowed into the porch supports of the two family home. A witness, Monroe Cressley, also of Franklin Township, said that the driver was in the wrong lane and then veered toward the right into the porch. Cressley said that he saw all sorts of debris flying after the vehicle hit the home. Living in the home were the Whitford and St. Jean families. J Whitford said that included he and his wife on one side, and daughter, husband and their child on the other side. The speed limit on the roadway is 25 miles per hour.
