Nicole Smith, daughter of David and Nancy Smith of Lehighton, received her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Misericordia University. The commencement ceremony took place on May 21. A luncheon was held prior to graduation to recognize the doctor of physical therapy students.

Smith is a 2003 graduate of Lehighton Area High School and a 2008 graduate of Misericordia University, with a master of science degree in physical therapy.She is currently employed at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Facility in Allentown.
