Theft from vehicle incidents

State police at Lehighton are investigating two theft from vehicle incidents both occurring at the same location in Carbon County.

Troopers said the two vehicles were entered while parked at the Blue Ridge Country Club parking lot in Lower Towamensing Township. The Lexus ES330 of Barbara Snell, Palmerton, and the Honda Accord of Carolyn M.W. Frantz, of Laury's Station, were entered when the passenger side windows on both were smashed.Removed from each vehicle was a purse. The incident occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13.Troopers are also investigating the theft of miscellaneous scrap metal from a Monroe County site. Troopers said about $200 worth of the metal was taken from the property of Borgers Service Station, located along SR209 at Polk Township Road, in Polk Township.Troopers said security camera's indicated two white males were observed operating an older model Chevrolet pickup truck with a light colored stripe down the side and a light colored roof and wheels with plow lights on the front at the scene.The incident occurred about 11:54 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11.Anyone with information concerning either of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
