Jim Thorpe arrests

Jim Thorpe police reported on several arrests made by officers.

Anthony N. Jordan, 21, of 375 Lafayette St., Copiague, N.Y., was arrested on drug counts following an incident that occurred about 11:50 p.m. on Aug. 5. Police were called to the boat launch area at Mauch Chunk Lake at the request of the state Fish & Boat Commission for alleged drug activity. Jordan allegedly admitted to possessing a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on charges of possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.On July 30, about 7:08 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 112 North Ave. for a report of a male harassing another male. On scene officers spoke to Harold Schmick, who stated Ray Ziegenfuss Jr., 40, of 104 North Ave., had approached him and a group of other people and stated that he was going to punch Schmick in the face.Ziegenfuss told officers that in the past Schmick yelled at his child to pull his pants up and he was aggravated about Schmick's child playing music with profanities in it.Ziegenfuss admitted he walked down to Schmick and began yelling at him. Ziegenfuss was cited for disorderly conduct.On Monday, Sept. 10, about 6:46 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of Broadway for a report of a male and female who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and also that the male was attempting to gain entrance to a residence.On scene officers made contact with Jared A. Dotter, 23, of Box 638J, Kunkletown R.3, and Gina Marie Kunsman, 22, of Bangor. Both were found to be manifestly under the influence of alcohol. Both were cited for public drunkenness.
