Lansford police report

Derek Hunsicker, 22, and Felicia Bigg-Carr, 20, both of 503 Lansford Court, both face charges from an incident which took place at 8:15 p.m. Aug. 23 at their residence. Both are charged with simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct. They were arraigned before District Judge Joseph Homanko and committed to prison under $2,500 bail each.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, here's what happened:Officer Brian Horos and Officer Joshua Tom received a call for assistance at that address. While en route, they were flagged down by several people standing along Route 209 in front of the Lansford Townhouses. One of the people said that her sister, Bigg-Carr, was assaulted and choked by Hunsicker. The woman also said Bigg-Carr and Hunsicker were walking up East Patterson Street (Route 209).The officers found the two in the 800 block of east Patterson. Both were on the sidewalk on the north end of the street, yelling at each other loudly enough to draw neighbors out of their homes to see what the commotion was about.Police separated the two to try to find the source of the problem. Both people told them they had gotten into a fight at their residence. After interviewing witnesses, police learned that Bigg-Carr participated in the fight. according to one witness, Bigg-Carr slapped Hunsicker in the face after he threw her phone on the floor. They began to fight and wrestle on the floor.Horos concluded that the fight was mutual, and charged both under the state's Domestic Violence Act.
