Western Pocono Women's Club to celebrate 40th anniversary

The GFWC Western Pocono Women's Club will celebrate their 40th Anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. with a Victorian Tea. The event will take place at the Chestnuthill Township Park Building on Rte. 715 in Brodheadsville.

It will be a great opportunity to learn more about who and what the club is all about.The GFWC Western Pocono Women's Club is a service organization that has helped the West End community for 40 years. Their West End Fair food stand is their only fund raiser. The money earned at this stand is returned to the local community. Some, but not all, of their donations are given to Angel's Closet at Pocono Medical Center, Chemical Free Graduation Party, Equi-Librium, the five West End area fire companies, local food banks, two high school scholarships, Meals on Wheels, Operation: Touch of Home, Salvation Army, West End Ambulance, West End Community Library, Women's Resources, and the West End Regional Park. They donate to all age groups and a wide variety of organizations.The club meets the third Monday of the month at Effort United Methodist Church at 7 p.m.For more information visit their website at
