Meet the Teacher Night at Weatherly Area Middle School will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m.

Parents are invited to come and meet their child(ren)'s teachers and learn the objectives for the school year. Some of the topics to be covered include curriculum, daily schedule, discipline, safe school procedures, student expectations, grading and homework. Also, parents will hear about scheduling a parent-teacher conference, state standards and state assessment.At 6 p.m., sixth grade parents are asked to meet in the middle school large group instruction room (LGI). This session ends at 6:30. Seventh grade parents are invited to the session that begins at 6:40 and ends at 7:10 in the LGI. The eighth grade parents will meet the teachers in the LGI from 7:20 to 7:50.Encore teachers and various administrators will be available from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Those planning to attend include Barbara Adams, library; Margaret Brown, guidance counselor; Amanda Derr, music, band, chorus; Monica Falatko, physical education, health; Bobbi Kufro, consumer science; Susan Lenhardt, art; John McGee, computers; Shannon Shugart, music, band; Michael Ziegler, technology education; and Scott Zoscin, athletic director. Acting Superintendent Thomas McLaughlin and Elementary/Middle School Principal Sandra Slavick will also be available that evening to meet parents.The PTA will provide child-sitting for children ages 4-11 for a small donation. A parent must sign the child in at the middle school lobby and sign them out again as they leave.Please call PTA President Donnell Stump at 579-8801 by Monday, Sept. 5, to register your child so that enough help is available.All parents are asked to enter through the middle school doors. Parking will be open in the rear lot. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. Please do not take children into the classroom, or LGI with you. Remember that these sessions are not for parent-teacher conferences. Dates will be available in November to schedule conferences.The Elementary School Meet the Teacher Night will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8.PTA membership dues will be at a discounted rate until Sept. 30.
