The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. met Aug. 23 at the Ryan Township Fire Company with 42 members in attendance.President Eleanor Schmerfeld conducted the business meeting.Chaplain Kathleen Valentine offered an invocation. Reports were presented by secretary Florina Martin and treasurer Shirley Becker.A discussion was held on an Oct. 4 trip to Penn's Peak and the group voted to hold the 2012 picnic at St. Peter's Church Pavilion.Guest speaker Judy Radzwick gave a presentation on Diakon Volunteer Home Care.Birthday wishes were extended to Sylvia Garcia and Kathleen Valentine. Dolores Walck provided a roll of tickets for use with the 50/50 drawing.The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.Class of 1971The Tamaqua High School Class of 1971 is planning a 40-year anniversary reunion for Oct. 22 and is in need of current contact information for numerous class members.Addresses, phone numbers and/or email addresses would be helpful.
