A Schuylkill County man was jailed yesterday on charges he attempted to murder another man.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred at 639 Deep Creek Road, Barry Township.Troopers said Jeffrey Daly, 48, of Hegins, verbally threatened Christopher Sauers, 48, of Hegins. Daly then allegedly picked up a rifle and fired multiple shots towards Sauers. Sauers was not injured.Daly was later located by troopers and taken into custody. He was charged with attempted murder, aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats.He was arraigned at the county prison by video before duty District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua. He was committed to the prison unable to post bail.
