Theft and mischief incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a theft and several acts of criminal mischief.

Donna Shelly, of 237 White St., Weissport, Carbon County, reported someone stole about 10 CDs from her unlocked vehicle while parked near her home. The theft occurred sometime overnight of Thursday, Aug. 18, and Friday.Troopers are probing an incident at the residence of Rebecca Sue Goepfert, of 22 Wetzel Rd., in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Someone attempted to gain entry to the home and in the process damaged a rear window. No entry was made. The incident occurred sometime between Aug. 15 and 18.Unknown criminals smashed an exterior pole lamp located at the driveways of Larua Guccio, 55, and Dean Todd Beers, 50, of 3390 and 302 Shady Oaks Drive, Saylorsburg, respectively. The incident was reported on Aug. 15.Robert C. Rice, 52, of Hill Rd., Palmerton, Towamensing Township, reported unknown criminals poured an unknown type substance into three fuel tanks for his mobile home. The incident occurred sometime between June 23 and Aug. 12.Robert Bertsch, 50, of Box 85-1, Qual Rd., Kunkletown R.2, Monroe County, reported someone struck his home with a bullet/pellet or a small caliber weapon. The incident was reported on Aug. 15.Steven S. Murphy, 50, of 132 New York Blvd., Effort, Polk Township, Monroe County, reported someone cut down a large portion of corn in his field near the intersection of Dorshimer Rd. and New York Blvd. The incident occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Aug. 12 and 7 a.m. on Aug. 13.Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
