St. Matthew's Church picnic

St. Matthew's UCC of Kunkletown will host its 122nd Annual Kunkletown Picnic on Saturday, Aug. 20 in the picnic grove. The free afternoon entertainment is "Olde Friends" from 3-6 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs or sit in the pavilion.Children's activities begin at 4 p.m. with games, a Kiddie Cake Walk, Fish Pond and a frog jumping contest (BYOF-bring your own frog.)If you love to make pies, bring your favorite homemade apple, other fruit, other kind of pie to be judged by 5 p.m. and win a prize. The judging will begin at 6 p.m.The adult cake walk will begin at 6:30 p.m.New items and cash donations for the Chinese auction would be greatly appreciated. Please have them at the picnic grove by 11 a.m. on Saturday.Everyone is invited.PVEN in needPleasant Valley Ecumenical Network is in need of the following items: cans of soup, tuna fish, boxed potatoes, canned vegetables (no corn), canned meat, peanut butter and jelly; new underwear, blankets, sheets, new or slightly used bras. Please bring these items to the church on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays between 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and Sundays, 8-11:30 a.m.Chestnut Ridge SeniorsThe Chestnut Ridge Seniors will meet on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co. Bring a bag lunch and come ready to play Bingo.
