Two people escaped serious injury after their truck hit a tree on Moss Glen Road, SR 1011, aka Brockton Mountain Drive, in Schuylkill Township, around 4 a.m. Sunday morning. A female passenger had to walk almost a quarter mile to reach the closest home, where they called 911. The male driver stated a deer jumped out in front of him and caused him to veer off the road. Responding were Tamaqua Rescue Squad, Mary D Fire Company, and Tamaqua and Lehighton Ambulance. State Police are investigating.
