A Schuylkill County driver is facing several charges, including hit and run, following an incident that occurred about 11:05 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 222 Mahanoy St. (SR1005), in Nuremberg, North Union Township.

State police at Frackville said Zachary Johnson, 22, of Nuremberg, was driving a 1999 Saturn at the above location when it left the road and crashed into a parked vehicle. After the crash Johnson fled the scene on foot.Johnson was later located and admitted to being involved in the incident. He told troopers he dropped a cigarette while driving which caused the crash. Johnson was not injured.Damages were termed heavy to the front-end of the Saturn and the rear-end of the parked vehicle.Troopers said Johnson will be charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic, careless driving, accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property, and immediate notice of accident to police.
