Theft of copper wiring probed

State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of a large quantity of copper wiring from a Carbon County business.

Troopers said the burglary and theft incidents occurred at Alliance Sand Company, located at 415 Golf Road, in Lower Towamensing Township.Troopers said at 7:26 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, they were called to the business to a reported break-in. On scene troopers were told about 88 feet of copper wiring and assorted tools were stolen from the business sometime between 11 p.m. on Saturday, and Monday when they were called.In a related report troopers said at 7:45 a.m. they were called for a theft incident at the site. An investigation revealed about 85 feet of copper wire was removed from the property.In a third report troopers were called to the business again. An investigation revealed a large spool of copper wire was taken from the property sometime between 4 p.m. on Monday and 7 a.m. on Tuesday.Anyone with information concerning these incidents is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
