Theft incidents

State police at Lehighton reported on several theft incidents probed by troopers.

On Monday, Aug. 8, about 2:13 p.m. troopers responded to the Colonial Auto Sales dealership at 620 Little Gap Road, in Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, for a theft from a vehicle report. An investigation revealed that three rental vehicles at the site had about 15 gallons of gasoline stolen from them. The criminals punctured fuel lines of the vehicles to get the gasoline. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, and 10:30 a.m. on Monday.Nancy B. Kuhn, 51, of 46 Marthas Lane, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported someone stole car keys, magazines and personal items from her property sometime between 6:30 and 7:53 p.m. on Monday.James Calven Robbins Jr., of 6 Pheasant Lane, Polk Township, Monroe County, reported someone removed several miscellaneous tools from a red tool box located in the driveway of his home. The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 5 at 10 p.m. and Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. A road sign belonging to Lower Towamensing Township and located at the intersection of Spring and Hemlock sts. was damaged by unknown persons sometime between midnight at 4 a.m. on Aug. 6. Damages were estimated at $50.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
