The appeal of Lehighton interests to have the proposed Mahoning Interchange on the Pennsylvania Turnpike's Northeastern Extension changed in designation to the "Lehighotn Interchange" is being met with formidible opposition. All indications are the name will remain the Mahoning Interchange. The Palmerton Industrial Development Association and Palmerton Businessmens Association are opposing the Lehighton move, pointing out it should be called the "Palmerton" exchange.
