Lansford councilman 'guilty' of harassment

A member of Lansford Borough Council has been found guilty of harassing another council member.

Leonard Kovach, 44, had the guilty verdict announced following a summary hearing before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek in Lansford last week.The charge stems from an incident that occurred at a meeting of council on April 13 and involved member Thomas Vadyak.Kovach has been ordered to pay a fine and costs that total $450.50.He was charged with harassment by Trooper Nicholas A. De La Iglesia of the Lehighton barracks of the as a result of an incident which occurred between 6 and 7 p.m.According to the charges, Kovach made a verbal threat directed at Vadyak during the meeting.
