A Mornoe County man is facing a criminal count following an incident that occurred about 9:12 p.m. on July 29 at Box 378, Lower Middle Creek Rd., in Polk Township.

State police at Lehighton said troopers responded to the above address for a report of a criminal trespass. Uon arrival troopers said Steven Gerald Fiorention, 27, of Effort, broke into the home of Dewella Joy Schmidt, 29. and physically threatened her. He then departed the home and continued to threaten the victim, troopers allege. Troopers identified Fiorention as the ex-boyfriend of Schmidt.He was charged with criminal trespass. Schmidt, police noted, obtained an emergency protection from abuse order against him.
