A Carbon County jury found a Lansford man not guilty of three counts of simple assault following a two-day trial.

Stevin L. Gaffney, 27, was charged by Nesquehoning police for an incident that occurred in the 100 block of W. Railroad Street on July 11, 2010. He was accused of assaulting Joe Hutta. Hutta sustained injuries to his left eye.Gaffney claimed self-defense in the incident saying Hutta threw the first punch and he defended himself.The trial was held before Judge Steven R. Serfass.
